6:00am in my garden…
…that’s the best time for a photo shoot! The light is soft, the air is cool and crisp, and the vegetables and herbs are becoming lush, despite their late start!
Even though I took the summer off from programs and teaching in order to work on my new book, dedicated writing time has been hard to come by. More likely this summer you’ll find me running to meetings to work on the launch of a chef-based food service program in our public schools, spending time with my children, headed out for an early morning run or ride, turning the compost or headed to the farm.
Nevertheless, the garden is starting to flourish and the collection of recipes for the book is, too! From Grilled Avocado with Tomato Peach Salsa and Fried Tomatillos with Cilantro Aioli to Summer Squash with Smashed Chickpea Herb Stuffing and Black Lentil Salad with Curry Vinaigrette, EAT CLEAN LIVE WELL (book 3) is really starting to take shape! Here’s a sneak peak at this morning’s shoot.
I hope you’re finding as much inspiration from summer’s bounty of fresh produce as I! I’d love to hear from you about what’s inspired you this summer … whether it’s been in the garden, the kitchen or… well, wherever!
I’m looking forward to sharing this book and all of its recipes and information over the course of the upcoming year.
Until then, eat clean live well!
